Circa April 2008, I got to pick up this book called "That Thing Called Love" by Tuhin A. Sinha randomly in the shelf of Om Book Store.

As I started reading the book, I started getting a feeling that a friend is narrating his experience, not that I am reading a book. And I finished the book in no time. And immediately I mailed Tuhin, congratulated him on writing a masterpiece.

Since then, I and Tuhin have been in touch regularly on mails & chats.

And then on Sep 12, 2008, Tuhin released his second book "22 Yards" in Delhi. And luckily I could attend the same!!

As the name suggests, its a Cric-fic.

As far as the story is concerned, it is centered around Mayank who is the captain of the Indian ODI team that loses in the first round of a World Cup.

The narrative follows his journey through the fickleness of life & cricket and the various unknown, unspoken aspects involved in the team or cricketer's life which we fans are oblivious of and then to Mayank's final redemption in the T20 World Cup.

In the narration, Tuhin dwells into sensetive issues such as "drug abuse" & "flings(one night stands)" which certainly exist far more than is reported.

The most important aspect what I feel is Tuhin's ability to go into indepth detailing on any topic, be it relationship (That Thing Called Love) or the inner aspects in a cricketer's life(22 YARDS). While reading the book, I felt as if I am reading a book written by an ex-cricketer(when i was read TTCL, i felt as if a friend was narating his experiences) !!!

Thats the USP of the writer....

A MUST READ (IT WILL BE A MUCH MORE ENRICHING EXPERIENCE THAT "ANY MISTAKE")

Will wait for your next, Tuhin!!!
